Description

A modular outdoor kitchen in six shapes and three material lines

FHKC004 is an outdoor kitchen built from six shapes - a storage table, an oven table, a corner cabinet, a storage cabinet, a sink table and a cabinet with door - in three material lines: the A line in aluminium with stainless steel fixings, the B line in all aluminium, and the C line in all steel in a low 60 cm format. A stainless steel sink and a faucet are listed with the range, and the six shapes are also put together as a six-piece set.

The short answer: six shapes, three lines, one set of drawings; a 12 mm rock plate worktop on the steel line and a 1.5 mm aluminium worktop plate on the aluminium lines; units ordered singly so a run can be built up or extended; and flat cartons that load 390 to 710 units into one 40HQ. Send the terrace outline and the drawing and the lead time come back together.

Why this range, and not a welded steel kitchen

  • Six shapes, three material lines, one drawing. The same six units are made in aluminium with stainless fixings, in all aluminium and in all steel, so a project can move between them on cost without the terrace being re-planned.
  • The frames are powder coated, not painted. The whole frame is coated after fabrication, so the inside of a cabinet and the back of a door are finished the same way as the face that is seen.
  • The worktop is a slab, not timber. The steel line carries a 12 mm rock plate top, and the aluminium lines a 1.5 mm aluminium plate - neither swells, splits or needs annual oiling.
  • Units are ordered singly. A run can start as two units and grow, and one damaged unit can be quoted on its own.
  • The sink is a line item, not a fixture. The stainless sink and the faucet are ordered with the run or left out, so a terrace that needs no water is not paying for one.
  • Flat packing pays for the container. The tall storage table packs into a carton 85 cm high, so 390 of them load into a single 40HQ.

Put simply: A is the aluminium line with stainless steel fixings, B is the same shapes in all aluminium, and C is the same shapes in steel, sitting lower at 60 cm.

The six shapes, and the sizes they come in

The A line and the B line are the tall format and match unit for unit on size, so a run measured for one fits the other. The C line is the same six shapes in the low format.

The C line reads its dimensions as length x depth x height, which is why the figures appear in a different order - the storage table is the same unit laid out low and long rather than tall.

What each unit is for

UnitWhat it does
Storage table, FHKC004-A1 / FHKC004-B1 / FHKC004-C1The tall rack of the range, with a slatted back panel that rises above the shelf and carries two open shelves and a rail.
Oven table, FHKC004-A2 / FHKC004-B2 / FHKC004-C2The widest low unit at 100 cm, sized to take a built-in or freestanding grill on the worktop.
Corner cabinet, FHKC004-A3 / FHKC004-B3 / FHKC004-C3The tall unit of the pair, for the end of a run or as the tall element beside the oven table.
Storage cabinet, FHKC004-A4 / FHKC004-B4 / FHKC004-C4An open cabinet with an internal shelf, for trays, bowls and the things a kitchen wants within reach.
Sink table, FHKC004-A5 / FHKC004-B5 / FHKC004-C5The sink unit, cut for the stainless steel sink that is listed separately so it can be ordered with the run or without it.
Cabinet with door, FHKC004-A6 / FHKC004-B6 / FHKC004-C6A closed cabinet with double doors, to put the working side of a run away from view.

The sink and the faucet

The stainless steel sink is 45 x 40 x 21 cm and sits in the sink table, which is cut to take it. The faucet is a stainless steel unit with a brass cartridge and a braided supply hose.

Both are listed as their own line items rather than being built into a unit, which means a sink table can be ordered without them and used as a plain working table, and a replacement sink or faucet can be quoted on its own.

The six-piece set

The six shapes are also put together as one set: the storage table, the oven table, the corner cabinet, the storage cabinet, the sink table and the cabinet with door, supplied with the stainless steel sink and the faucet. The set ships in eight cartons with a net weight of about 159 kg.

A set is the fastest way to cover a full terrace in one drawing and one shipment; the same six units can also be ordered singly if the terrace only needs part of the run.

Ways to put the units together

Because every unit is ordered singly, the range is bought as a layout rather than as a fixed set. The layouts that follow from the six shapes:

CombinationWhat it covers
Storage table + oven tableThe working pair: a tall rack and a 100 cm grill table, in under two metres of terrace.
Storage table + sink table + oven tableA straight run with water between storage and grill.
Corner cabinet + sink table + cabinet with doorA compact L where the corner cabinet closes the turn.
The six-piece setThe full run, from the tall storage table through to the sink table, in one order.

Send the outline of the terrace and we return a drawing with the units placed and the sizes confirmed against the space.

Frame, doors and finish

The steel line is built from steel tube at 35 x 35 x 1.2, 35 x 25 x 1.2 and 20 x 20 x 1.2 mm, skinned in 1.0 mm steel sheet. The aluminium lines use 35 x 35 and 35 x 25 mm tube with 1.2 mm aluminium panels, and the A line adds stainless steel fixings throughout.

Every frame is powder coated after fabrication, so a cabinet is finished inside and out. The units ship knocked down and assemble on site.

The tall storage table with its slatted back panel, and a low unit beside it on a paved terrace.

The worktop

The all-steel line carries a 12 mm rock plate worktop - a mineral slab that reads as stone and is not affected by rain or by the splash zone around a pool. The aluminium lines carry a 1.5 mm aluminium worktop plate, coated with the frame.

Because the worktop is supplied with the unit rather than specified separately, a run ordered in one line comes out with one continuous worktop height and one finish across the whole run.

Colours and finishes

The range is made in mid-grey as standard, which is the finish shown throughout this page, and the frames can be powder coated to a colour reference on a project order.

Whichever colour is specified, the frame is coated over the whole unit and the sink stays stainless steel, so a run reads the same way on the terrace.

Planning a run

The units line up along one wall or turn a corner without a step in the worktop line, because the low units share a depth and the tall units are sized to sit against a wall.

Send the outline of the terrace, the position of the water and the power, and the size of the grill, and the drawing comes back with the units placed and the gaps checked. If the line is still open, the same drawing prices in aluminium or in steel.

Weather, site and use

The units are freestanding and need nothing more than a level, hard surface - paving, decking or a concrete slab. On an exposed roof terrace, plan the fixing down into the substrate as part of the build.

Powder coated frames and a rock plate or aluminium worktop mean there is no timber to seal and no glue joint to open, so a winter outside is part of the design rather than a risk.

Where the range is used

Villa terraces, pool decks, roof gardens, hotel and restaurant outdoor areas, and the kitchen yard of a private house. It suits projects where a run is put together over time, and projects that need a specification to be moved on cost without the terrace being redrawn. See the rest of the outdoor kitchen range, or the wider outdoor furniture line it is made to sit with.

Packing and container loading

Every unit ships knocked down in its own flat carton. The aluminium lines and the steel line pack to the same carton family, which keeps a mixed order economical.

All figures are per unit. The stainless steel sink and the faucet are listed separately, and the six-piece set combines the six shapes with both of them.

What is not included

The stainless steel sink and the faucet are line items rather than parts of a cabinet, and they are only supplied when they are ordered. The grill, the griddle plate and the worktop appliances shown in the photographs are props rather than part of the set.

What is included is the cabinet frames with their panels, shelves and fittings, the worktop on each unit, and the fixings the units assemble with.

Optional extras, customisation and OEM

A griddle plate, a baking tray and an ice bucket can be specified with the run, so one terrace can carry cooking, baking and a sink station from the same family.

Size, colour and logo are customised under OEM and ODM: a different width or depth for a specific terrace, a colour matched to a brand reference, and a logo applied to the units. On a hotel or restaurant project the units are usually specified to a brand colour and marked once, so a terrace that grows over several seasons still matches itself.

Care and maintenance

Both worktop types and the powder coat are cleaned with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral soap. Abrasive pads, wire wool and solvent cleaners take the sheen off a powder coat, so keep them off the frames and the panels.

The rock plate top on the steel line does not need oiling through the seasons. At a coastal site, a rinse every few months takes the salt off the frames and keeps the finish even.

Because the range is modular, wear is dealt with unit by unit rather than by rebuilding a kitchen.

Price, lead time and how to order

Price is quoted per order rather than published, because the line, the units, the extras, the quantity and the shipping terms all move the number. The route from layout to a confirmed order is four steps.

  1. Send the layout. The outline of the terrace, where the water and the power are, the size of the grill and how many people the kitchen serves. A sketch or a photograph is enough to start.
  2. Choose the line and the units. Aluminium with stainless fixings, all aluminium or all steel, any combination of the six shapes, the sink and the faucet if they are wanted, and a size or colour change if the terrace needs one.
  3. Get the drawing and the price. We come back with the units placed in the space, the sizes confirmed against it, and a price for the order.
  4. Confirm the details. Lead time and minimum quantity are confirmed on the enquiry, because they depend on the units and the line chosen. The pre-shipment details are checked against the drawing before anything is packed.

Ask for the price with the terrace outline and the quantity, and both come back in the same reply: ask for a price on this range.

Questions

What are the three material lines?

The A line is aluminium with stainless steel fixings, the B line is all aluminium and the C line is all steel. They share the same six shapes, so a specification can move between them on cost without the layout being redrawn.

Do all three lines have the same sizes?

The A and B lines are the tall format, from 60 x 55 x 90 cm up to 90 x 60 x 138 cm. The C line is the same six shapes in a low format, standing 60 cm high, with its own footprints. Both sets of sizes are listed on this page.

What is the frame made of?

The steel line uses steel tube at 35 x 35 x 1.2, 35 x 25 x 1.2 and 20 x 20 x 1.2 mm with 1.0 mm steel sheet. The aluminium lines use 35 x 35 and 35 x 25 mm tube with a 1.5 mm aluminium worktop plate and 1.2 mm plates elsewhere.

What is the worktop?

The all-steel line carries a 12 mm rock plate worktop. The aluminium lines carry a 1.5 mm aluminium worktop plate. Both are powder coated, and the worktop surfaces are finished to match the frame.

Is the sink included?

The stainless steel sink and the faucet are separate line items, so they can be ordered with the run or left out. The sink is 45 x 40 x 21 cm.

Are the units assembled?

They ship knocked down in flat cartons and assemble on site. The tall storage table packs into a carton 85 cm high and the low units into cartons 62 cm high.

How many units fit in a container?

390 storage tables, 510 oven tables, 640 corner cabinets or 710 of the 60 x 55 x 90 cm units load into one 40HQ on the aluminium lines.

What is in the six-piece set?

The storage table, the oven table, the corner cabinet, the storage cabinet, the sink table and the cabinet with door, together with the stainless steel sink and the faucet. It ships in eight cartons.

What is the minimum order?

50 sets, confirmed on the enquiry.

What is the lead time?

Lead times are confirmed on the enquiry, because they depend on the units and the line chosen.

Are there optional extras?

Yes. A griddle plate, a baking tray and an ice bucket can be specified with the run, and the units take custom sizes, colours and logos under OEM and ODM.

How is it cleaned?

Warm water and a mild, pH-neutral soap. Keep abrasive pads, wire wool and solvent cleaners away from the powder coat.

What is the warranty?

12 months from the date of loading.
