Where can your outdoor umbrellas be used?

Hotels and resorts, restaurant and cafe terraces, beach clubs and pool
decks, rooftop and corporate terraces, residential gardens and villas.
What changes between them is not the umbrella, it is the specification.

Poolside and beach club
Olefin or solution-dyed acrylic canopy, because chlorine and salt are what
shorten a fabric's life. A 360 kg welded marble base, and umbrellas spaced
by the base footprint rather than the canopy span.

Restaurant terrace
Centre pole or cantilever, sized to the table layout. A 3 x 3 m canopy
covers a four-top with about 60 cm clearance all round. Use a fillable base
if the layout changes through the season.

Rooftop and exposed sites
The wind rating governs everything. Our wind-optimised centre pole umbrella
is rated to Beaufort 4 (about 25 km/h), so plan for closing canopies, and
consider a permanent in-ground base.

Residential garden
A 2.5-2.7 m centre pole umbrella on a resin base - usually the
lowest-profile option.

Hotel pool decks with fixed layouts
4 x 4 m and larger canopies on 160 kg bases, or bolt-down where the deck
cannot take a freestanding base.

Each setting has a recommended model: cantilevers for open pool decks, centre-pole and Roman umbrellas for dining, and large square units for broad public terraces.

Matching model to site

Open, wind-exposed decks benefit from in-ground anchors or heavy split bases. Dining areas with tables suit in-table centre poles. Tight patios suit a side-mounted cantilever that swings the canopy over the table without a central obstruction.

Climate fit

Coastal and high-UV sites should choose solution-dyed acrylic canopies and rinse frames to manage salt. For four-season markets we advise a protective cover and dry winter storage of canopies.
